Burke wood was the son of Nannie and Charles Erskine Scott Wood.
Charles was famous for his journal on Chief Joseph's surrender and you can google him and find the story.

I have not found their mother Nanny Moael Wood's grave she died in 1897 in New York, but was a Resident of Portland, OR and a Poet.

His sister was Nan Wood Honeyman 1st Woman to represent Congress in Oregon.
