Amanda Ellen Bivens was born January 5, 1877, in Hackett, Arkansas (Sebastian County), daughter of John Bivens (1851-1928) and Arminta Scott Angel (1853-1941).

On April 21, 1894, in Haskell, Oklahoma, Amanda married Joseph Marion Hill, who was born October 20, 1871, in Lawrenceville, Georgia (Gwinnett County), son of John Hill (1835-1900) and Elizabeth Tuttle (1834-1909).

In 1910, Mandy E., age 33, and Joseph M., a farmer, age 38, were living in Canadian, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) with their seven children: Rosella, age 15; Clemmie M., age 12; Walter L., age 11; Archie L., age 8; Mary Elizabeth, age 6; Odie P., age 3; and Joy Adeline, age 1 year 6 months; all born in Oklahoma. The record shows that Mandy and Joseph had been married 16 years, and had given birth to 9 children, of which 7 were still living.

In 1930, Mandy E., age 53, and Joseph M., a farmer, age 58; were living in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) with their five children: Josie Margie, age 19; Albia C., age 17; Ruby Fran, age 14; Clint L., age 12; and Marion W., age 9; all born in Oklahoma.

Joseph died January 2, 1938, in Littlefield, Texas (Lamb County). Mandy apparently married someone named Milligan after the death of her first husband as that surname is on her tombstone.

Mandy died November 4, 1949, in Lexington, Oklahoma and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery.
