The official birth certificate of Henry Frank lists him as Benjamin Henry Frank, although he was known only as Henry Frank, Jr. professionally. That's how he's listed on his death certificate. The American Indian name given to him by his parents was Io-Wy-do-qua.

Henry Frank, Jr's parents were Henry, Sr. and Ruby Geboe Frank. Henry, Sr. was the son of the Rev. Tingo and Amanda Jones Frank. They were full blood Creek Indians. Ruby's father, John Geboe, was a French Canadian and her mother, Lucy Bearskin, belonged to the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe. Ruby married Henry Frank, Sr. in 1923, and they divorced after approximately 20 years of marriage. She married James F. Comiskey circa 1943.

When World War II broke out, Henry joined the Navy and served until war's end. Then he later served in the Army during the Korean War.

Henry Frank, Jr. married his beloved wife, Edna, on Aug. 9, 1946 in Kingman, Mojave, Arizona. He was killed in an auto accident on his 32nd wedding anniversary. Henry and Edna were the parents of four children...three sons and one daughter.

Henry Jr. was self-employed. His first company was called Estimating Services, Inc., in which he did estimating work for commercial projects. He also started his own roofing business called Mid-State Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc. in which he served as the company president. This business, too, was a commercial operation.

During his career, Henry was a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors, the National Roofing Contractors Association, the National Federal Association of Independent Businesses, and the Professional Estimators Association.

He had roofing jobs going all around the state of Oklahoma at the time of his death. After his passing, his sons undertook the completion of the projects at hand, and then closed the company down.

Henry Frank, Jr. was a member of the Mayfair Heights United Methodist Church. His funeral wake was conducted at the Arbeka Indian Methodist Church in Seminole County. The funeral, itself, was held at his home church in Oklahoma City. He was laid to rest at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The funeral services were directed by the Guardian West Funeral Home.
