Bob was the fourth of eleven children born to David Piotrski and Mary Catherine Pape. In 1948 he married Dolores Doll and they had six children: Susan, Sandra, Robert, Jr., Sheryl, Scott, and Stephen. For many years Bob was a private contractor and did construction and plastering work and he was actively involved in the Jefferson County Democratic Party. Bob also very much enjoyed the family poker games and he was known by the family to be a very good, if somewhat sneaky, poker player. He battled various types of cancer before finally succumbing to the disease.
