***** REMEMBER JERRY GRANT
THE TOWN IS NORWOOD LA, AND IT IS ON STATE HIGHWAYS 19, 22, AND 422 JUNCTION. ABOVE WILSON AND BELOW WHITAKER. IT ALL SOUNDS SO STRANGE THIS SMALL PLACE, BUT TO JERRY GRANT, 11B10, IT SURE AS THERE IS A GOD WAS HOME.
A PRAYER FOR JERRY GRANT, WHO ON DEC. 10, 1967 LOST HIS LIFE IN VIETNAM. WHAT A BUMMER, 10 DAYS TO CHRISTMAS; BUT IN VIETNAM CHRISTMAS WAS A MEMORY OF HOME AND SOME SADNESS.
TO ALL WHO KEEP THE SILENT WATCH ON PANEL 31E WITH JERRY, REST, WE REMEMBER AND STILL AFTER THESE 35 YEARS FEEL THE SORROW.

***** Hi, I’m his niece, daughter of Charles Grant, his brother. In his biography, I noticed someone described his race as “Negro”. I don’t know who wrote this or when, but I’d appreciate if it was removed and changed to Black or African American. It’s upsetting for me to be researching him decades later just for him still be referred to as a “negro”, even with all of the negative connotations it’s amassed over the decades, making it a distasteful choice of words. I’d really appreciate it if it was changed. Also, where’d you find this picture? I have a better photo of him alone. Please contact me immediately after the biography has been changed and I will send the photo.
