Emily was the daughter of William T and Mary Wright. The wife of John Huit Peurifoy. Her son John Emil Peurifoy was ambassador to Thailand when he and his son were killed in an auto accident in 1955.
Emily and her first husband divorced and she remarried to a Mr. Watson and they had at least one son, Rev. John G Watson Jr.
When Emily died this son brought her back to Abbeville and buried her. Her headstone has the wrong birthdate on it. I have a copy of her fathers last will and testiment that I got from the courthouse in Abbeville and her father has her birthdate in the will.
