The Father of Ex-Congressman Haldor Boen Dies at His Home in Aurdal From Apoplexy.
Erick T. Boen, whose serious illness was announced Saturday, died at his home in Aurdal at 11 o'clock Monday morning. He had a stroke of paralysis Thursday, which paralyzed one side and he lingered until Monday morning when death resulted.
Mr. Boen was one of the oldest settlers in Otter Tail county.
He was born in Benli, Sondre Aurdal Valders Norway, October 21,1819. He came to Otter Tail county in 1876 and settled in the town of Aurdal where he has since resided. His wife died there 1893.
Mr. Boen leaves eight children. Haldor, Erik, Aners, Sigrid, who is now Mrs. A.A. Bergerud; Anna, who is now Mrs. O. O. Ronning; Johan, Anton, and Tonetta, who is now Mrs. M. Fossen. Haldor and Mrs. Fossen reside in this city. Mrs. Ronning resides in the town of Dane Prairie, and the remainder of family have homes in Aurdal.
The funeral occurs from his residence in that town on Thursday at 2 p.m. and the remains will be laid at rest in the Aurdal cemetery.
