Daughter of Vida Quincy Hawkins and Nellie Miranda McPike. She married Aphan H. Martin on 18 Aug 1929, and they had one child, Ann. He divorced her on 2 Dec 1941 in Hope, Arkansas. In 1939, she had joined the civilian workforce at Jefferson Proving Ground, Indiana, becoming the secretary to the Commander, JPG, and remained there through the war. At the end of WW-II, her former boss, Colonel Derosey Carroll Cabell II, who had divorced his first wife, came to get her, and they were married at her parents home in Hope, Arkansas, on 13 June 1947. Together, they raised Ann, her daughter from her first marriage. Initally, they lived on a houseboat in Florida, and later in a house in New Smyrna Beach, FL. In 1962, they moved to Indianapolis, IN, where he died in 1966. She then married Charles E. Campbell, of Indianapolis, IN, in 1970, and they were still together when she died in Feb 2000. She is buried next to her second husband, Derosey C. Cabell, in Bedford, IN.
