Son of William & Elizabeth Ann (nee Taylor) Allerdice of "Hazeldean", Carrington Avenue, Hurstville, NSW. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 18 August 1914 and embarked from Sydney for active service abroad on 20 October 1914 per HMAT "Euripides" (A14). He was killed in action at the Battle of Lone Pine, aged 21 years.
