Shirley was the son of Alonzo and Katie Jenkins Snoots and the husband of Lillie Marie Delauder. They had two daughters, Lillie and Shirley. He was also survived by his mother and siblings Jonas, Gertie Frye, Harry, Fred, Arthur, Lettie Wetzel, Minnie Caniford, John, Charles, Janie Carey and Alonza.
Shirley was a veteran of World War I and worked as a machine helper for the B&O Railroad. He died of heart trouble.
