aka: Johann Frederick Hanselmann born: Unterscheffach Koeingreich, Wurttemburg Germany. Immigrated to America in 1871. Upon his arrival to America, he worked for the railroad and soon thereafter bought land near Saint Morgan Illinois from which he farmed and operated a blacksmith shop. He was well liked and a sizeable obituary article was written at this time in the Trenton Press (Illinois).
He suffered from a stomach wound in Franco-German war 1870-1871 which would later contribute to his death. He was married to Kathrine Barbara Klenk Feb 9, 1873 in Saint Morgan Illinois. He met her in Somerville Illinois. They had the following 12 children:
