Hattie V. (Gottberg) Zessin, First Born Daughter of Nine Children of William F. & Ida Mae (Gasaway) Gottberg.

Sister of Herbert Gottberg, Sylvan Gordon Gottberg, William Oscar, James Levi Gottberg, May Ida Kegler, Mary Bertha Wood, Bertha (Wingfield) and William (Bill) Gottberg.

When Hattie was finishing High School her boyfriend ask her to marry him and her parents would not allow it and they send her away to Nebraska, I assume to the home of her Uncle Max Gottberg, Sr..
After she met Herman Jacob Zessin and he ask her to marry him, she said Yes, and did it right away before she told anybody, including her parents. They were Husband & Wife for over 50 years.

Hattie really knew how to watch for Tornados and taught her children to know as well. They didn't have the National Weather Service.

Mother of Ida (Spevak) of Lincoln, Nebr., Irene (Halsey) of Norfolk, Nebr., Martha (Wilson) of McCool Junction, Nebr., Marie (Utley) of Russellville, Ark., Herman and Albert Zessin of Lincoln, Nebr. Grandmother of 17 Grandchildren.

She resided in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
