Luella May Fisher "Lulu" was born 12 October 1870 in Waterville, Kings County, Nova Scotia. Her parents were James Edwin Fisher (1830-1872) and Eunice Louise Woodworth (1836-1907). She married Herbert Heustis Best, her second cousin on 4 May 1896 in Manhattan, NY. They had two children Isabella Hilda Best Salter (1898-1982) and Dr. Charles Herbert Best (1899-1978). Dr. Charles Herbert Best was the co-discover of Insulin.
