Major Robert T.(sic) Walker, father of Mrs. O. J. Salisbury, died yesterday morning at the residence of his daughter in this city. He had been ailing for years and only recently returned from a two year's tour of Europe. The cause of the death was the fatal growth of a tumor on his side. The assistance of the most noted physicians and surgeons in the world has been obtained but all were alike unsuccessful in their treatment. The deceased was 72 years of age and a native of Pennsylvania. He leaves four children to mourn his loss. Major Walker has thousands of personal friends in the United States. He was a brother-in-law of James G. Blaine.
