John L. Denney, age 29, died at his home near Powersburg last Sunday evening of hydrophobia, after an illness of two days duration, caused by a bite of a mad dog about two months ago.
Some weeks ago he was taken to a fake mad stone in Russell county which had no effect on him, he wanted to be taken to the city for treatment but was not taken. A short time ago he started to feel like there was something wrong with him and told his people to watch him.
Mr. Denney was married to Miss Jennie R. Rector, daughter of D.W.C. Rector of Murl, on July 28th 1900, from which union six children were born, all of whom survive him, the eldest being about nine years old.
Mr. Denney, who was a member of the Masonic Lodge, was buried with Masonic Honors Tuesday. //// Son of WILLIAM HENRY & SARAH DENNEY
