George N. Anderton, a member of the Soldiers' Home, passed away at that institution yesterday, after a lingering illness. The deceased was born in Virginia on March 29, 1840, and was 76 years, eleven months, and twenty-eight days old at the time of his demise. The remains were shipped to Edgar, Neb., this afternoon, accompanied by relatives where interment will be made.

George N. Anderton, sergeant of Company H, Thirty-second Illinois infantry during the Civil War, passed away on Monday, March 26, at 11:10 a.m. after a long illness. His remains were shipped from the undertaking parlors of Buchheit & O'Laughlin in Grand Island to Edgar, Neb., for interment. He was admitted to the Burkett home on July 17, 1899, from Clay County, Neb., at the age of 59 years. He was a native of North Carolina and served his country three years in the war of the rebellion.
