The obituary for William H. Rodgers stated that he had died Jul. 25, 1895 at his home. He was an old and highly respected citizen of the community. He was a native of Kentucky, born July 13, 1816, and settled on his farm one and a half miles north of Windsor in 1848. He was married in early life to Lucinda Miner. To them were born six children, William R., Henry H., Harvey H., James, Sarah E. and Hardin. All except James, who was deceased, resided in Ottawa, KS. After his wife died, he married second in 1867 to Mary K. Kuhl. To this union was born one son, John. Mr. Rodgers adhered to the Presbyterian faith and a faithful member of that church. Funeral services were conducted at the Sulphur Spring church, with burial following in the Sulphur Spring cemetery. Windsor Gazette – 25 Jul 1895
