Married 8 times, first to film director Wesley Ruggles. Other husbands included owner of the New York Yankees Dan Topping and an RAF captain. She had two children: Wesley Ruggles, Jr. and Dan Topping, Jr. She died alone in her West Hollywood apartment. She is buried in her family plot at St. Michaels, a large marker over the grave reads simply "JUDGE."
