Annie was born Annie Eliza Palmer in Georgia. By the early 1870s, she moved to Nebraska, calling herself Ena Raymonde and was a recognized markswoman. She associated with Buffalo Bill Cody, Texas Jack Omohundro, Doc Carver and other western legends.
She married David Coulter Ballantine 5 Sept 1875 in Lincoln County, NE. They had two children David Coulter Ballantine (1876-1959) and Annie Ena Ballantine (1881-1976). Ballantine (1844-1882) a western Nebraska cattleman who became a Nebraska state senator in 1881. He was killed in a train accident 3 Oct 1882.
Annie remarried Washington Lafayette McClary (1851-1938) in 1884 and was killed 13 July 1884 in a wagon accident.
