My mother was sitting on the edge of my bed listening to some music and watching me work on my computer. I opened my aunt's picture to add it to this site. She said, "That looks like Bood" (her sister). I told her it was. Mom said she was so pretty. I told Mom that I was going to put the picture on Find a Grave. She said, "Why? . . . no one knows her." My response, "I have no one to leave it to and I wanted the world to know who she was and how much I loved her." Bood died at the Medical Center, Brighton Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Augustus "Pete" Wehr Jr., whom she married in Butler, Pennsylvania, on September 25, 1944. They never had any children of their own, but treated my brother and me as their own. Also preceding her in death were her father, Herbert J. Mitchell; her mother, Mary Werthmann Mitchell; and a nephew, Robert V. "Porky" Chop (my brother). Her only sibling followed her in death on October 4, 2004. That was my mother, Mercedes Marie Mitchell Chop. Bood had chronic lung disease and coronary artery disease for years and cor. pulmonale for mins., resulting in sudden cardiac death. Before her death, Bood was blinded by macular degeneration. She lived 30 days longer than her mother did. She kept asking me, "Where's Mom?" I kept telling her "Granny died." She didn't know what she was going to do without her. I told her Granny was in Heaven talking to God about it. They must have had a good talk because God took care of all our worries. The hardest thing I will ever do is live my life without these people, but, Thank God for many wonderful memories to sustain me.
