WILLIAMSPORT - Gladys Virginia Hill Orndorff, 87, of 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, Md., and formerly of 222 Bryan Place, Hagerstown died on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Washington County Hospital of complications from congestive heart failure.

Born Dec. 20, 1920, at Plum Run near Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Jobe and Bertha Shaw Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William (Bud) Orndorff who died July 5, 1988.

She attended Westview School in Warfordsburg, Pa.

She was a homemaker all her life with her main interests in her family, friends and church family. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was a member of Grace Brethren Church where she served as a deaconess, together with her husband as ambassador of Sunday school classes, and the ladies W.M.C.

She is survived by one son, Aaron W. Orndorff and his wife, Beverly, of Smithsburg, Md.; two daughters, Fay Langseth and husband, Jim, of Rolla, N.D., and Joy Lee Ebersole and husband, Jim, of Maugansville, Md.; one sister, Ada Golden of Warfordsburg, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, Charlie Semler and Janella Flook of Smithsburg, Joan Langseth of Huntsville, Ala., Greg Langseth of Bellview, Iowa, Robert Orndorff and Sherry Reynolds of Smithsburg, Chris Orndorff of Peach Tree City, Ga., Stefanie Hart and Tammy Carter of Hagerstown, and Amy Corbett of Clear Spring, Md.; 20 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol V. Semler in 1986; two brothers, Marshall Hill and Therman Hill; and two sisters, Goldie Palmer and Lena Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Dean Pryor will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 837 Spruce St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
