Ethel A. Knapp, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 21, 2008 in Helena, Arkansas. She was born September 30, 1921, in Swifton, Arkansas, to John James Moore and Sallie K. Moore. She was married to Darrell Eugene Knapp on March 8, 1941, and moved to Lambrook in 1946. She was a member of Cypert Church of Christ.
Ethel was the mother of ten children, and had 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is survived by a niece, Enid Barber of New Johnsonville, TN; five sons, Robert Knapp (Vivian) of Little Rock, AR, Donald Knapp (Brenda) of West Helena, AR, James Gilbert Knapp of Memphis, TN, Jerry Knapp (Linda) of Manila, Arkansas, and Larry Knapp (Lea) of Indian Trail, NC; four daughters, Ramona Moneyhun (James) of Springdale, AR, Carolyn Slane (Larry) of Elizabeth, AR, Shirley Brister of West Helena, AR, and Lawanna Newsom (James) of Elaine, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrell Knapp; and a daughter, Bonnie Zimmer.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Billy and Danny Beebe at 10 a.m., Monday, August 25, from the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, and burial following at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.
Grandsons will act as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Marian McDaniel, Leigh Ann Guest, N.P., Mark Spencer, and the staff of Crestpark Intermediate.
