Funeral services for Homer Sampson, 66, of Arnoldsburg, Calhoun County, who
died Monday in Calhoun General Hospital in Grantsville, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Orma Methodist Church. The Rev. Leon
Strickland and Rev. Carl Morris will officiate with burial to be in the church cemetery following IOOF memorial graveside services. Born
in Calhoun County, he was a son of Floyd and Pricy Wayne Sampson. He was engaged in farming and was interested in the production
of oil and gas in the Little Kanawha Valley. He was a member of IOOF Lodge No. 246 of Minnora. At the time of his death, Mr.
Sampson was serving as Justice of the peace in Lee District. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Marie Tanner Sampson; one daughter,
Mrs. Virginia Butler of Orville, Ohio; Two children by a former marriage, Mrs. Valley Duke of Portland, Ore. and Clayton Sampson of
Vienna, WV; one brother, John Sampson of Leisure City, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Butler of Orma, and Mrs. Verbal McKown of
Spencer; and five grand children.Friends may call at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville.-
