LESTER BEGOLE
---R.F. Begole of this city and his brother, C.M. Begole of Gifford left Saturday for Denver, Colorado to attend the funeral of their brother, Lester Begole, who died Thursday. They were accompanied by A.C. Mitten of this city and Mrs. Mable Sawyer of Medill, a nephew and niece of the deceased.
---Lester Begole will be remembered here by many La Plata people, having been born and reared in the Gibbs community.
---He was forty-eight years old last August 7. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Begole who came to this country in 1866 and settled on a farm one mile west of Gibbs. His mother preceded him in death May 6, 1889 and his father died December 6, 1918.
---Mr. Begole is survived by his wife and two daughters, Maurietta and Lydia, five brothers and two sisters, R.A. and R.F. Begole of La Plata, C.M. Begole of Gifford, John Begole of Griffin, Louisiana, George D. Begole who is Mayor of Gibbs and Mrs. John Elmore of Hooker, Oklahoma.
---Mrs. Begole's wife was Miss Mary Mitten of north of Brashear, and he and his family went to Colorado in 1917.
---Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 February 4. Burial was at Fairmont cemetery.
---The following was taken from the Denver Post of February 1st:
---Lester A. Begole, forty-eight, brother of Mayor George Begole, died suddenly Thursday night at his home of a cerebral hemorrhage. Worry over the illness of his daughter, Miss Maurietta Begole who underwent an operation Wednesday is believed to have precipitated the illness. He had been in failing health recently but his condition was not regarded as serious. Thursday he visited his daughter at the hospital and shortly after he returned home, suffered the fatal stroke.
---Deceased came to Colorado nineteen years ago. He lived a year in Westminister and then went to Wiggins, Colorado, where he farmed. In 1930 he went to Fort Morgan and engaged in the farm implement business and eight months ago he came to Denver.
