Flora Lee Pettit, 89, of 515 W. Mill, died at 6:34 this morning in a Kirksville hospital where she had been a patient since Jan 12. Before entering the hospital she had been a resident of the Adair County Nursing Home five years.
Born Oct. 31, 1882 in Schuyler County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Wellfort. On April 8, 1906 in Memphis she was married to Ora Pettit who preceded her in death in 1921. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, two sons and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Merl Pettit and Woodrow Pettit, both of Kirksville; one brother, Edward Wellfort of Memphis; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pettit moved in 1931 to Kirksville where she had since resided.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Funeral Home of Davis and Davis. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Burial will be in Maple Hills cemetery.
