Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crestwood Chapel for Luther S. Tucker, 85, Hokes Bluff, who died Wednesday, March 27, 1996. The Revs. Jay L. Daugherty, Elder Talmadge Simmons and Elder J.L. Hopper will officiate.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Luther S. Tucker, 85, of Hokes Bluff, died March 27 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
A native of Cherokee County. Mr. Tucker was a Republican and a devoted member and deacon of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene H. Tucker; and daughter, Wanda Pugh.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Tucker; son, Harold (Helen) Tucker, Folsom, La.; daughter, Alyce Golowash, Birmingham; grandchildren, Hal and Alan Tucker and Nancy Petit, all of New Orleans, La., and Perri Daugete, Smyrna, Ga.; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirly Harris, Gadsden.
Mr. Tucker is also survived by two stepsons, Dennis and Ronnie Sanders, Gadsden; two stepdaughters, Billie Barlett, Gadsden, and Memory Mullins, Odenville; and 10 step grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be doctors, nurses and staff of seventh floor at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 this evening.
