Estella "Ella" was the daughter of Edmund Moseley and Melissa M. Freese.
3 MOSELEY siblings:

4. William A. Moseley (1861-1919).
Her father died during his Civil War service, and her mother Melissa never remarried; she raised her children with, probably, the help of the Moseley and Freese clan.
Russsell Lewis Warner, GRS, wrote in 1976: "...meanwhile, a Johnson family had moved to Byersville, Livingston, NY. There they had a neighbor, Melissa, with an eligible daughter, Ella. Ella's mother made the boast that her daughter would marry one of the two Johnson boys, Leander or Edwin. Somehow, Edwin felt it necessary to visit his relatives in Tompkins County. At a Tompkins County party which Edwin attended, the single girls "gave him the eye" and saw a very handsome man. At that party Ella is supposed to have told her girl friends, "That's the man I'm going to marry..."
She married Edwin A. Johnson on September 19, 1880 in Varna, town of Dryden, Tompkins, NY. and they soon moved to Michigan.

4 JOHNSON children:
1. Moseley Edwin Johnson (1882-1928).
2. Lewis Johnson (1885-1920).
3. Minnie [May] Edith (Johnson) Warner (1886-1985).
4. Ora Otis Johnson (1891-1983).
At some point in time, Edwin and Ella removed to the Isle of Pines, Cuba, W.I., and purchased land for a fruit plantation. Ella would visit her relatives in New York and Michigan quite often. Her husband, Edwin, died in 1927 and is buried at the Isle of Pines, Cuba, W.I.
It is known that a great-granddaughter, Maxine (Warner) Nowlin was born on that island, daughter of Roy and Marie (Werner) Warner while they were on a two-year honeymoon there. Roy was the son of Ella's daughter, Minnie [May] Edith (Johnson) Warner.

Dansville--Mrs. Nellie Hartman of this village received word Thursday of the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Ella Johnson, which occurred at her home in Williamston, Mich. Mrs. Johnson who had often visited here, was the widow of Edwin Johnson. She is survived by one son, Ora, and one daughter Mrs. John C. Warner, both of Williamston. Funeral services were held Saturday."
