MARION, Ky, Georgia Helen (Nunn) Cochran, age, 96, passed away on Oct. 31. 2004, at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, in the Skilled Nursing Unit.

She was born on May 22. 1908 in Blackford, Ky to George and Ermon Cain-Nunn. She attended Marion Grade She was 1926 graduate of Marion High. She attended Logan Women's College at Russellville, Ky for two years. She also attended Western State Teachers College at Bowling Green, Ky. Mrs. Cochran taught school in a one room elementary school in Kentucky. She was employed by Kentucky Utilities as a sales representative for 10 years.

On August 6, 1939, she married Thomas Cochran in Marion, Ky. They lived in Washington, D.C., until they returned to Marion, Ky. where they owned and operated Cochran Hardware and Cochran Supply Company. Mr. Cochran preceded her in death in 1966. After Cochran's death she continued, the family business until she retired in 1973. She was a director of the Farmers Bank and Trust Company in Marion, Ky. Her memberships included Marion Methodist Church and the Marion Women's Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Jane Cochran of Atlanta, and Helen Ellerman and her husband Don of Coffeyville, Kan.; one granddaughter, Sarah Ellerman of Washington, D.C, one niece. Judy Galitzine of Louisville; two nephews, David Nunn of Tuscaloosa, and John Lamb of Augusta, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anna Lamb and Christine Abbott; and one brother, Douglas Nunn.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov.6, 2004 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
