Charles E McCarthy was the 6th of 9 children born to Charles & Ellen (Coleman) McCarthy. Charle's siblings were Jeremiah, Daniel, Ellen (my grandmother), Mary, Catherine, Julia, Michael & Thomas. Charles had 4 wives & 6 children. 1st wife Mary Slattery, their children: Belle, Mary, Annie, Female infant, & Eleanor. 2nd wife Ellen (Lena) St. Lawrence, no children, 3rd wife Mary O'Leary 1 child male stillborn. 4th wife Elizabeth Buckley no children.

A requiem high mass was said at Holy Name Church. Bearers were: D J Haggerty, William Ramsey, John Salmon (nephew)Albert Jefte, James Bradford & William Ruckl. Full obit in Springfield Republic Newspaper 5/14/1937
