Henry (Jake) Logsdon, 83, of St. Patrick died Sunday morning, Feb. 14, 1988, at Lincoln Hill Nursing Home in Quincy, Ill. The son of William D. and Lucy Jane Pearl Logsdon, he was born in Lewis County on Aug. 4, 1904. He married Elizabeth (Louise) Bick at St. Patrick on Dec. 3, 1930, and she survives. Also surviving are four sons: Henry T. Logsdon of Palm Bay, Fla., Alfred S. (Bill) Logsdon of West Melbourne, Fla., Franklin R. Logsdon of Melbourn, Fla., David L. Logsdon of Kahoka; seven daughters: Frances L. Rebo of Flemington, Mo., Jane Spilker of Cambridge, Ill., Alice Jenkins of Keokuk, Iowa, Lucille Abbott of Silvis, Ill., Karen Dyer of Coeur Dalene, Idaho, Mary Rhodes of rural Canton, Joy Edmondson of Memphis Tenn.; 31 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Gabe, Otha and Joe Logsdon; one sister: Mae Stotler; and one granddaughter. Logsdon was a lifetime member of the Shrine of St. Patrick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Patrick with Rev. Robert Duesdieker officiating. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. Organist: Marie Brennan; singers: St. Patrick Men's Choir. Pallbearers: grandsons. Memorials may be made to Boys Town of America or Mass offerings. Visitation after 10 a.m. Wednesday with family greeteing friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Shaffer and Sons Funeral Home.
