Mary Louise (Higgins) Wilding-White was the daughter of John Woodman and Clara (Carter) Higgins and the granddaughter of Milton Prince and Katherine (Chapin) Higgins. She distinguished herself by following in her father's footsteps as President and Chairman of the Board of Worcester Pressed Steel. She later served as President of Higgins Armory, the museum started by her father to house the largest collection of armor in North America.
She volunteered her time to many organizations, including Boy and Girl Scouts, the American Red Cross, Junior League among others. She lead an active social life participating in a variety of sports and cultural activities. She travelled to every continent except Antartica.
