Ruth M. ConantNarrow LakePassed away March 28, 2014 at age 85. Born June 25, 1928 to Wendell and Ruth (Talbot) Anderson in Albion, Michigan and raised by her grandmother, Eliza May Talbot. Throughout her life Ruth worked for Wilcox Gay in Charlotte, Horner Woolen Mills, Hansen's Chicken Factory, and Green Bay Foods where she would later retire after 33 years. When she was younger she enjoyed bowling and loved to travel. Her favorite places to visit were Shipshewana, Soaring Eagle Casino once a year and northern Michigan, especially in the fall. One of her favorite things to do was bake different breads and desserts for family and friends. Ruth attended the Eaton Rapids Wesleyan Church and the Charlotte Senior Center. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and beloved dog, Sammy. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clarence Conant; infant daughter, Helen and son-in-law, Howard Troutner.Surviving are her daughters, Sally Troutner, Ester (David) Harns; grandchildren, Justin Harns, Jason Troutner and Howard Troutner Jr. who called her everyday; great grandchildren, Carlie, Taylor, Chelsea, Jason Jr., Jorden and Jenna Troutner; special niece, Joan (Bill) Gallaway; special friends, George and Ester Bock, June Lawson, Gordon Davis, Norm and Judie Reese as well many other nieces, nephews and friends.Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
