Miss Aubrey Cornwell, age 48 of Calhoun, passed away late Wednesday in an out of town hospital. Miss Cornwell was born in Gordon County, March 30, 1925, daughter of Mae Bell Higdon and the late George Cornwell.

Miss Cornwell is survived by her mother, Mrs. George Cornwell, two brothers, Henry Cornwell and Frankie Cornwell of Calhoun; four sisters, Mrs. Tommy Glass of Calhoun, Mrs. Walton Dunnaway of Rosedale, Mrs. J. E. Glass of Resaca, Mrs. Willard Busby of Dalton; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services of Miss Cornwell were held Saturday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. from the New Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Ray Bearden and Rev. Weldon Scoggins officiating. Music was arranged by the Church Quartet.

Interment was in the Damascus Cemetery. Pallbearers serving included J. B. Williams, Kenneth Williams, Daniel Smith, Edward Herndon, Winfred Casey, Ted Cornwell, Charles Cornwell and Donald Gravitt.
