Lawrence E. Satterfield, 74, 725 S. Elliott St., died at Ball Hospital at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday after an illness of six weeks. He had been employed by Muncie-Chevrolet for 18 years until his retirement a year and a half ago.

Mr. Satterfield was born in West Virginia and had been a resident of Muncie 58 years. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship in Christ Church, UAWA and the CIO Local 499.

Surviving are his wife, Alda; four sons, E. Gerald Satterfield and D. Dana Satterfield, both of Muncie, Albert M. Satterfield of Parker, and Sherman E. Satterfield of Royerton; one daughter, Mrs. Velda Weaver of Muncie; 16 grandchildren; one brother, John W. Satterfield of Muncie; and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Williamson of Dayton, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Parson Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Paul Brown and burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Thursday.
