Emily Cannon Pollei was the fifth of seven children born to William Tenny and Ada Young Croxall Cannon. She was educated in Salt Lake City, was an active musican, continually involved in education, and many civic organizations. She married Eric Pollei 11 November 1933 and is the mother of four boys, Eric, Paul, Robert, and David. She died at the age of 95 on December 5, 1999 and is buried in Salt Lake Cemetery.
