Mrs. H. Erwin Lifelong Marion Resident Dies
Mrs. Margaret M. Erwin a life long resident of Marion passed away at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at an Iowa City Hospital following a long illness.
Mrs. Erwin was born June 8, 1878 at Marion the daughter of Francis and Elmira Hewitt Winsor. On November 7, 1899, she was married at Marion to Harley W. Erwin. Mr. Erwin passed away at Cedar Rapids on April 30, 1948. Mrs. Erwin was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church. She was also a charter member of both the Concord Club and the U.S. Circle.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Irvin (Dorothy) Scott of Marion and a son William W. Erwin of Milford N.J. Also surviving are five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two brothers: Frank V. Winsor, Sequim, Wash., and Bert V. Winsor, Jeffersonville, Ind. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Murdoch Chapel by the Rev. Jean P. Hauther. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery. Bearers were Vernon Lent, Hugh Gordon, LeRoy Scott, Andrew Kershner, Harld Scott and William Scott.
