Rev. Peerless was a member of the Church Lads' Brigade between 1909 and 1954. This was an exclusively Anglican National Youth organisation and between 1935 and 1954, he was General Secretary of the CLB. He had much influence on the organisation and guided it through the Second World War. He was ordained in 1913 and served in a variety of parishes both before and after his time with the CLB. He was also Chaplain to the Roxeth & Harrow Co. for many years.
