State of Illinois Shelby County on this 23rd day of December A.D. 1865, Before me Clerk of the county Court and for the county and state above written, personally appeared, William J. F. Howe, a resident of said county of Shelby whose post office address is Shelbyville, age 48 years, who first duly sworn according to law, doth on oath make the following declaration as guardian of the minor children of: James A. Myers, deceased, in order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the act of congress approved July 14, 1862, granting pension to minor children of deceased officers and soldiers, that he is guardian of: Mary H., Robert G., George O, and Amanda A. H. Myers, whose father was a private in Co. A. commanded by Capt. John J. Frankhouser in the 26th Regt. of Illinois inf. in the war of 1861. and that the said, James A. Myers, died at Atlanta Georgia on or about the 28th day of July AD 1864, by reason of wounds received in battle, that the mother of the aforesaid children remarried and is now the wife of Clark M. Howe, that the name of the Mother before second marriage was Eliza J. Myers, and that the date of birth of said wards is as follows;

Mary H. Myers, was born on the 8th day of June 1855, and is Ten years old.

Robert G. Myers, was born on the 9th day of April 1858, and is age Seven years,

George O. Myers, was born on the 5th day of January 1860, and is Five years old

Amanda H. A. Myers, was born on the 16th. day of March 1865, and is Eight Months old.


Source; Will of Anna H. Alderson, she mentions she wanted her brother Robert G Myers to be buried in Greenwood Cemetery,

I further direct that my brother, Robert Myers, remains, shall be buried at the North side of Mr. Parrish, on my burial lot in Greenwood Cemetery in Decatur, Macon County Illinois.

Mr. Henry Fulk and Mrs. Annie Forstsmyer were called to Ramsey yesterday by the death of Robert Myers, son of the latter. Deceased was 33 years of age and formerly resided in this city but moved to Oconee a couple of years ago and then to Ramsey, where he died on Monday of consumption, leaving a wife and three children.


Note: the mistake in who his parents were, he was the son of: James Amos Myers and Eliza Jane McClain, Mrs Annie Fostmyer, was his sister, and Mr Henry Fulk was his mother latest husband)Marilyn
