Ima Belle Simril was known to her grandchildre as Gaga. Her parents are William Taylor Carter & Lula Victoria Bailey. She married Robert McLane Simril 23 Aug 1913 in Athens, Georgia. He adored her and called her "Little One." She called him "Funny one." Those endearments are on their tombstome.

They had eight children:

1 - Robert William "Bobby" Simril Sr.
2 - Claude "Bubba" McLane Simril
3 - Imogene "Gene" Harriet Katherine Simril Beach
4 - Rose Georgia Simril Broome Smith Huneycutt
5 - Edith "Billie" Augusta Simril Bass
6 - "Jackie" Jacqueline Simril Honeycutt
7 - Charles Frank "Sonny" Simril (husband of Doris Jean Rudisill who was the daughter of H. Fred Rudisill
8 - Joanne Simril Taft (husband is James Carlisle Taft son of Wellington Taft and Daisy Tillman Taft.

They had 18 grandchildren. They called each other "Little One" and "Funny One".

Mrs. Ima Belle Simril,
native of Georgia

Mrs. Ima Belle Simril, 83, of 524 Bass Lane, Matthews,NC died yesterday at Mercy Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Cole Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas R. Sigmon officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park.

Born July 14, 1894 in Athens, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Taylor and Lula Belle Carter. Mrs. Simril was a member of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Frank Simril of Aurora, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. J. C. Taft of Beverly, N. J., Mrs. J. R. Honeycutt of Tallahassee, Fla., Mrs. C. O. Bass and Mrs. Gene Beach of Matthews, Mrs. M. J. Ho[u]neycutt of Charlotte, and 18 grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. M. J. Huneycutt, 6331 Bandy Dr. in Charlotte, and will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Funeral Home.
