Major league baseball player. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1914, the Cleveland Indians in 1916, and the Washington Senators in 1916-17 and 1919-20 until his untimely death that year. He recorded 179 hits over 791 at-bats in 269 games during his career. Defensively, Leonard was primarily a third baseman.

In 1918 Leonard's career was interrupted while he served in World War I.
