Mrs. Rose Kingman Shafer, Formerly
of Lockport, Passes.
LOCKPORT, Oct. 25 — Word has
been received here of the death of
Mrs. Rose Kingman Shafer, of Los
Angeles, Calif. Burial services were
held in Rosedale cemetery, in that
city.
Mrs. Shafer was born in Ridgeway,
N. Y., in 1864. With her parents,
she moved to Lockport and in
1907 married the late William E.
Shafer. Some time after the death
of her husband she went to Los
Angeles, making her home with a
friend, Mrs. Celia Noll. She was
elected matron of the W.C.T.U.
home for women, then known as
the Southern California Home for
Women, in 1925. Here she served
for 12 years, becoming endeared to
the guests of the home.
For the last four years she has
again made her home with Mrs.
Noll.
