George David "Beer Man" Cheatham of Nashville, TN passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009; he was 75.

Mr. Cheatham was retired from T.D.O.T. after forty-one years of service.

He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Cheatham was a familiar face at Greer Stadium home of the Nashville Sounds having been a beer vendor since 1978. Mr. Cheatham was also a vendor at the Titans and Predators games; the Speedway at the Fairgrounds and the Municipal Auditorium.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty Harlan Cheatham; sons, George David (Cindy Hooper) Cheatham, Jr. and Harold Edward Harlan Cheatham; step-sons, Tommy (Beverly) Morris; grandsons, Cameron, Dylan and Harlan Cheatham; step-grandson, Dallas Block.

The family received friends on Thursday from 3 to 8 PM and on Friday from 2 to 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Rd., Nashville and where funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11 AM with Bro. Norman Slate officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers: Co-workers and fans of the Nashville Sounds and fellow T.D.O.T. co-worker.

Pallbearers: Bobby Gaskell, Wayne Campbell, Herbie Bennett, Buddy Wolfe, Ronnie Purdue, Cameron Cheatham, Dallas Block and Ed Cheatham, Jr.

Interment followed in Spring Hill Cemetery.
