Ida L. Aust was born July 16, 1904 in Pe Ell, Lewis County, Washington, to Jacob and Margaretta (Koerber) Aust.

She was the granddaughter of Jacob Ast & Katharina (Wendling) Ast (both of whom were from Bukovina, Austria). and John Koerber and Hannah (Pruner) Koerber (both of whom were from Germany).

Ida had seven brother and sisters: Rose M. (Aust) Sullivan, William John Aust, Margaret Elizabeth (Aust) Ellis, Ernest Aust, Henrietta Aust, Jacob Ludwig, and Minna Louisa. She also had a half brother Frank Aust, and 3 half sisters: Emma "Emmy Lou" (Aust) Thomas, Ella Aust, and Margaret M. "Minnie" (Aust) Irwin Ray.

She was the second wife of Alonzo Bert Corbet, and step-mother of Evelyn Laveta (Corbet) Keely.
