William T. Anderton passed away Tuesday, Nov 10 at a Norfolk nursing home.

Mr. Anderton who was born May 22, 1869 was 90 years 5 months and 18 days of age.

Funeral services were held today (Thursday) at 2:00 p.m. at the McGhie Funeral Home in Edgar with burial in the Edgar Cemetery,

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stella Uhrenholdt of Norfolk.

William Anderton

William Thomas Anderton, son of Benjamin and Susan Anderton, was born May 22, 1869 in Macoupin County, Ill., and departed this life Nov 10, 1959 at Norfolk. He was 90 years 5 months 12 days of age at the time of his death.

At the age of 17 he came to Clay County with his parents and most of his life was spent in or near Edgar. He took an active interest in the affairs of the community as it grew.

He was married to Ella Reynolds at Edgar on July 23, 1891. Two children were born to this union, a son, Seven and a daughter, Stella.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1951 shortly before Mrs. Anderton passed away,

Mr. Anderton was a member of the Methodist Church.

He died at the Perry Rest Home in Norfolk where he was living in order to be near his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his son, Seven.

He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Mrs. Emanuel Uhrenholdt of Norfolk, one grandson, Guy McKee of White Bear, Minn., one granddaughter, Mrs. Eve Drolet of Chicago, Ill. three great-grand daughters, Denise and Lynn McKee and Renee Drolet. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Kate Paul of San Mateo, Calif., and Mrs. Carrie Watson of Portland, Ore., and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held at the McGhie Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, November 12 at 2 o'clock with Rev. Delvin Roper officiating.

Mmes. Merna Kinnison and Shirley Swanstrom, accompanied by Mrs. Eileen Mikkelsen at the piano, sang "In The Garden" and "God Will Take Care of You."

Pallbearers were Elmer Due, Earl Hart, Murdith Springer, Bryon Kinnison, Arthur Swanson and Ed Watson.

Burial was in the family lot in the Edgar Cemetery.
