Mrs. Lillian Aldridge Skillion, 61, who made her home on Cadize Route 5, died at the Madisonville Hospital September 6, 1947, where she was taken for an operation some time ago. Although she had been in poor health for the past eight years for the last few months her condition had grown considerable worse.
Mrs. Skillion was the daughter of Victoria Nunn Aldridge and Valverdia Aldridge, having been born to them one of 12 children near Golden Pond.
In 1910 she was united in marriage to John Skillion, who survives her. To this union was born six children of which four survive. Two died in infancy.
The fine citizen and mother professed faith in Christ when quite a young girl and lived a true Christian life through the many years.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Stevenson at 2:00 p.m. at the Grapevine Cemetery near Madisonville, Sunday, September 7th.
The family made their home in this community for a number of years prior to moving to Trigg County this year.
In addition to her husband she is survived by four children, Robert Skillion of Route 5, Frances Bryant, Ida Jennings and Jenny Gibson of Hopkins County, 15 grandchildren and 10 brothers and sisters.
The people will well remember her in her kind deeds.
