Ernest Goesch passed away at his home northwest of town, Saturday morning after a brief illness. Mr Goesch had been ailing for about a week and took worse Friday night and a physician was called at about two o'clock and at three the Dr. left and by four o'clock Mr Goesch had passed away.

Ernest Goesch was born in Grement*** in Pommern, Germany September 8, 1848 and died at his home near Edgar, Nebr., November 13, 1920, aged 72 years, 2 months and 5 days.

He was baptized in infancy and at the age of 14 was confirmed and united with the Lutheran Church. When 18 years of age, he came to America and settled in Illinois.

Mr. Goesch was married to Amelia Ka*er, February 16, 1874. to this union were born four sons and two daughters, who survive him. His union was broken by the death of the wife and mother on February 14, 18**.

Later he married Bertha Louise Schlange at White Bear Lake, Minn., and this union was blessed with one son and six daughters. One daughter died May 16, 1905.

Mr. Goesch came to Nebraska in September, 1889, and has resided here since that time.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife five sons, seven daughters, one brother, 21 grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Rev W.C. Brewer conducted the funeral at the home yesterday afternoon at one o'clock. The text was Isa. 38:12, "I have cut off like a weaver my life." The Presbyterian male quartet furnished the music. The body was laid to rest in the Edgar Cemetery.
