Paul Darien Sukraw, 87, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. Paul, the son of Harry and Minnie (Giese) Sukraw, was born December 24, 1922 north of Maxwell,NE.

When he was three years old the family moved to the ranch just west of Maxwell where he grew up. He attended elementary and high school in Maxwell and graduated in 1942. He was employed on the family ranch until 1950.

On June 12, 1949, he and Pauline Rice of Farnam were married in the Church of the Nazarene. They observed their 61st anniversary in 2010. They farmed in the Farnam and Maxwell areas, moving to Gothenburg in 1964 where they farmed until his retirement.

Paul was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Cozad, NE, where he had directed music for several years and served on the Church Board. His favorite hobbies were listening to gospel music and gardening. He raised a big garden so he would have produce to give to others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold and Quinten Sukraw, and sisters, Alice Wilson and Margaret Dewart.

Survivors are: wife, Pauline of Gothenburg, sons, Duane and Sharon Sukraw of Gothenburg and Kent and Inez Sukraw of Newell, South Dakota, sister, Ilene and Darold Miller of Maxwell, grandchildren, Kevin and Sarah Sukraw, Ryan and Leigh Sukraw,Michael and Michelle Sukraw, Kelli Sukraw, Kristen and Shane Burr and five great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
