Mary Margaret Sweeney, 80, of Prosperity Drive, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Miller's Merry Manor in Hope.
Mrs. Sweeney was formerly employed in the purchasing department at Cummins Engine Company, as a secretary at the Pentagon and at the post headquarters of Fort Lewis Washington.
She was a member of Burnsville Christian Church and a former 4-H leader and home economics club member in the Burnsville area. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and doing family genealogy.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Family and friends may call from noon until service time Saturday. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or the donor's choice of charities.
Born in Burnsville, July 16, 1930, Mrs. Sweeney was the daughter of Elbert "Steamboat" and Faye Carnes Fulton.
She married Norval S. Sweeney, April 8, 1951.
Survivors include her husband; children, Roxanne (Ron) Hawkins of Columbus, Jaci (Rick) Ratliff of Indianapolis and Doug (Rhonda) Sweeney of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Nikolas Hawkins.
