DEATH OF MRS. MCCARTNEY

Mrs. Martha McCartney, 89 years of age, passed away friday, November 22,1929, at the home of her daughter. Mrs George Key, of this vicinity. Where she had made her home for the past 30 years, following the death of her husband. mrs McCartney had been a resident of this country for 49 years. Seven children were born to Mr and mrs McCartney. two of whom survive. They are Mrs George Key and J.H. McCartney, of this community. Funeral services were conducted from the free methodist church in old Hartford, Rev. Merriman officiating on sunday afternoon. November 24th Internment was made in the Valley Cemetery. Attending the funeral from out of town were Mr and Mrs B. Houston and daughter Mildred of St. Cloud; Mrs Martha Boner of Detroit Mich. Mr and Mrs John Key and family of Nashwauk; besides a number of relatives from Staples. Friends of the Family extend sincere sympathy.
