Shearl Ivey Denson (formerly Sherrel Ivy Denson); he changed the spelling of his first and middle names to their present forms in May, 1967) was the son of Seaborn Ivy and Eva (King) Denson. After graduating from Addison High School in 1963, he attended Florence State College (now University of Northwest Alabama) and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in business/accounting. He married Nancy Williams on 18 July 1968 and their son, Travis Lamar Denson, was born on 17 September 1969. They moved to South Florida in 1970 where he worked as an accountant for a trucking company. He and Nancy divorced in 1987 and he remained in Florida. He died in Hospice surrounded by family and friends after a bout with pancreatic cancer.
